It's time to celebrate the changing of the seasons. No, we're not talking about the autumnal equinox, which marks the first day of fall (that's tomorrow, btw). We're talking about the Emmys, which is kind of like the unofficial start of awards show season. After the Emmys, comes the American Music Awards, the Golden Globes, the SAG awards, the Grammys, and finally, the Academy Awards. (Here at Byrdie, we love awards season, because it provides a platform for makeup artists and celebrities to create some of the most major beauty moments of the entire year).
On this year's Emmys red carpet, we saw a little bit of everything. There were neutral and monochromatic makeup looks, as well as bold and glittery ones. There were short and sleek hairstyles and long and glamorous ones. So without further ado, keep scrolling to see the 22 best beauty looks from the Emmys red carpet. They're all so good.В Getty Images
Right off the bat, we're drooling over Zendaya's auburn hair and radiant skin. Her voluminous red hair, paired with her green corset dress, is giving us some seriously chic Little Mermaid vibes.
Unilever Hair Expert, Ursula Stephen was in charge of creating Zendaya's glamorous hair. "To create Zendaya's hairstyle, I cleansed and conditioned her hair withВ Dove Intensive Repair ShampooВ ($4) andВ Intensive Repair ConditionerВ ($4)," Stephens said in a press release. Jodie Comer's monochromatic makeup and sleek half-up hairstyle were both subtle and elegant. Even though it wasn't bright or bold, it was still a stand-out look, at least in our humble opinion.В Getty Images
Kim Kardashian-West kept her makeup and hair fairly subtle and paired-back, sticking to her trademark taupe tones. "Since she was wearing an elegant dress we wanted to keep glam soft and classic," her longtime friend and hairstylist, Chris Appleton, said in a press release. ”First I blow dried the hair with the GHD Air Hair Dryer ($199) and a large round brush on medium heat to add shine and seal the cuticle. Next I look small sections of the hair and teased the root to add volume and fullness. We interrupt your scrolling to share Maisie Williams's subtle makeup look, which is all about rosy lipstick and blush, shimmery shadow in the inner corners of her eyes, and fluffy eyebrows. Now say it with us: eyebrow goals.
To make her hair look as voluminous as her brows, hairstylist Ryan Richman used Dove products, namely the Style + Care Volume & Fullness Mouse ($5) on Williams's towel-dried hair, before following up with the brand's Style + Care Compressed Micro Mist Flexible Hold Hairspray ($5) and Between Washes Dry Shampoo Volume & Fullness ($6).Getty Images

Kerry Washington took the Emmys red carpet as an opportunity to debut a brand new look. Let's dissect it, shall we? First, there's the hairstyle, which is slightly reminiscent of styles worn by mid-2000s pop stars (and we mean that in the best way.) Then, there's the makeup, which features a thick cat eyeliner and a glossy pink lip. We're into it.В Getty Images

Her hair was tied back into a high, elegant ponytail by hairstylist Owen Gould for Moroccanoil. Among the products he used were the brand's Volumizing Mousse ($28), Smoothing Lotion ($32), and Texture Clay ($26). The first added volume, the second created a smooth and sleek effect, and the third added piece-y separation in the ends of her hair.В Getty Images
